Run for Sandblast: from anywhere!
In 2024, Sandblast became a member of the Run for Charity (RfC) platform. This platform connects fundraisers with over 800 running events in the UK and beyond and is designed to help people who care about a cause- like ours!- to easily find and register in a race near you in order to raise funds.
For over 15 years the Sahara Marathon solidarity race, taking place every February in the refugee camps, in Algeria, has been an important fundraiser for our camp-based projects, like our current Desert Voicebox after school programme. We are aware, however, that it is not feasible for everyone to take a whole week off, spend up to £1000 to join the race and then help raise money on top of that.
For this reason we are inviting keen runners who would love to join a challenge for a great cause, to consider doing that for us here- just like Russ Cook, aka the hardestgeezer did for Sandblast last year when running the full length of Africa!
