As a Patron, you help spotlight our flagship education programme, Desert Voicebox, which empowers Saharawi children through English, music, and creative self-expression. You also support our broader mission: to advocate for the Saharawi people, preserve their cultural heritage, and fight for their right to self-determination.

The first person ever to run the full length of Africa, Russ is an athlete, adventurer, and motivational speaker. He partnered with us to raise awareness for the Saharawi cause and encourage runners all over the world to travel to participate in the Sahara Marathon.
Momo Hafsi
Present - Since 2007
Since our founding Sandblast festival of 2007, Momo has been a part of Sandblast’s network of advocates and supporters. This year, we are proud to welcome him back to the camps., to lead on implementing a Music training programme, sharing his knowledge and experience as a musician/ producer and composer to run pedagogical and eartrainng workshops at Desert Voicebox.
Ken Loach
Past - 2010-2015
Iconic English filmmaker, Ken Loach, was one of the earliest supporters of Sandblast, having attended our 2007 founding festival as a special guest.
He continues to be an advocate for the Saharawi cause in a personal capacity qnd as someone reknown for supporting justice and human rights causes,
