Do a Challenge
In 2019, we ran a highly successful #DesertVoiceboxChallenge where our supporters challenged themselves to complete a goal and raise money for Desert Voicebox.
Some of our challengers included:
Musician and actor Chris Guard, who wrote an entire album in 24 hours
Volunteer and trustee Beccy Allen, who learned Hassaniya, the Arabic dialect
spoken by the Saharawis
Carolina Graterol, filmmaker and trustee, who ran a marathon
Here are some steps to get started:
1. Choose your challenge
2. Set up your
JustGiving page here. Share your link with family, friends and
colleagues via email, group chats, and social media and ask them to sponsor you.
3. Take on your challenge! Share it on social media using
#DesertVoiceboxChallenge and tag us so we can celebrate with you!
Other Fundraising Ideas
If you are interested in fundraising for Sandblast, here are some ideas we hope can help you get started.
Donate your commute: If you're able to walk, cycle or car pool to work, you could donate the money you would otherwise spend on your commute to work to Sandblast. You can do this for a week, a month or longer! Why not encourage your friends, family and colleagues to do the same, and set up a team on JustGiving to raise more together.Hold a talk or film screening: You can host an event about the Saharawi cause and charge an entry fee, with proceeds going to Sandblast.Have a dinner party or soiree where you can collect donations from your guestsDo a pub-quiz and ask all groups to register for a minimal fee.Organise a raffle, auction an item or hold a bingo night.Green thumb? You could propagate your plants and sell them to raise fundsCooking fanatic? You could bake a cake, make jam, sauce or any other tasty treats that you can sell to raise money for SandblastPlease get in touch with other fundraising ideas! We'd love to hear from you
